The turbocharged EJ25 engines, especially the EJ255, have become iconic in the automotive world. Known for their power, tuning potential, and unique Subaru boxer sound, these engines have played a crucial role in the success of the WRX, both in racing and everyday performance.
The engine case, using seasoned case halves, undergoes a comprehensive bore and deck process. Precision boring and honing ensure perfect fitment and alignment, while torque plate honing further enhances accuracy—resulting in a flawless engine case built for optimal performance.
At the heart of this short block is a new OEM Subaru Nitride-Treated Crankshaft, designed for peak performance and durability in 2004-21 STI, 2004-08 Forester XT, and 2005-09 Legacy GT. Built to fit all EJ25 engines, this crankshaft ensures a strong foundation for reliability.
Resized connecting rods restore original dimensions for precise fitment and optimal oil clearance, reducing the risk of rod knock and improving longevity. ACL or King hardened rod and main bearings further enhance durability under high-stress conditions.
Forged pistons, known for their exceptional strength and wear resistance, add significant value to the engine's performance and overall durability. If it's modified for more power, the stock cast pistons may not be able to withstand the increased stress. This is where forged pistons come in. We have also equipped the engine with high-grade piston rings and seals, improving the engine's compression and oil control.
Cylinder heads are precision resurfaced with valve lash set and a complete valve job performed. Qualcast steel valve guides and new OEM valve stem seals are installed, and the heads are assembled using Six Star MLS head gaskets, torqued to factory specifications.
ARP head studs are thread-rolled after heat treatment, increasing fatigue strength by up to 1000%. Essential for performance engines under increased boost, they provide superior clamping force and long-term reliability.
M45 Automotive warrants this engine against defects in workmanship and materials for 24 months or 24,000 miles (whichever comes first) from the date of receipt.
No up-front core charge is required. Customers must return their old short block within 30 days of purchase. Failure to do so will void the warranty and result in a $1,000 charge. All cores are accepted regardless of condition, provided they match original specifications.
Freight is charged up front for both outbound shipment and inbound core return, ensuring full transparency with no surprise shipping costs.
