Closed Deck Spec

The EJ205 comes from the factory with an open-deck design, which provides better cooling efficiency and is lighter for general use. For those seeking more power, particularly in high-performance or racing applications. This closed-deck short block is designed to ensure the longevity of your vehicle's performance and to handle higher horsepower and torque levels that typically distort or crack open-deck blocks. The engine case, composed of new Subaru OEM case halves, is modified to accommodate the Closed Deck inserts, effectively turning the block into a sturdy deck. It's ideal for high-performance builds, offering better durability and longevity in racing applications. This added rigidity also leads to more consistent power delivery by ensuring reliable combustion under extreme conditions.

Pinned Mains

Pinned mains on stops the two split-case halves from shifting, walking, or "fretting" against each other under extreme loads. It locks the main bearing journals in alignment, protects oil clearances, and keeps the crank tunnel rigid when pushing past factory horsepower limits.

Torque Plate Honing

Seasoned case haves are torque plate honed to match the pistons being installed. The plates are torqued to match the hardware being used. This insures accuracy and fitment of the pistons to decrease oil consumption and extends the over life of the engine.

H-Beam Connecting Rods

H-beam connecting rods provides superior structural strength over factory stock rods. This modification prevents bending or breaking under extreme horsepower, high cylinder pressures from turbochargers and aggressive racing.

Hardened ACL Bearings

Hardened crank and rod bearings protects your engine under increased horsepower, higher RPMs, and severe cylinder pressures from a turbocharger that cause stock aluminum or bi-metal bearings to flex, extrude, or fail.

Forged Pistons

Forged pistons replace factory cast units to significantly increase strength and detonation resistance. Combined with high-quality piston rings and seals, these pistons improve compression stability and oil control under extreme conditions.

UPGRADED RACE READY HEAD OPTION

Upgraded race ready cylinder heads have CNC cam clearancing, to allow for larger cam lobes on performance cams. Machined for ½ studs, to help prevent head lifting on 500+ horsepower engines. BC cams, to increase the power band to higher RPM’s. BC springs to prevent valve floating at higher RPM’s, BC titanium retainers and keepers with supertech locators to prevent movement of the springs at high RPM’s. Bronze guides, to help heat transfer from the valves to the heads for cooling. A complete valve job with stainless valves and new OE Subaru valve stem seals to ensure a proper seal. The lash clearance is adjusted with all new lifter buckets. These heads are a must have to achieve power goals expected from a stage 3 build

Warranty

RVJ Limited warranty covers against defects in workmanship and product for 24 months or 24,000 miles (whichever comes first) from the date of receipt.

Unlike traditional practices, we do not require an up-front core charge when you purchase our product. Instead, we offer a convenient and hassle-free process for returning your old short block, ensuring a smooth transaction for both parties.

By making a purchase from us, you agree to promptly deliver your core (old short block) within 30 days from the date of purchase. It is crucial to adhere to this time frame to avoid any inconveniences. After the 30-day period, failure to return your core will result in the voiding of your warranty and a charge of $750.00
